About the Artist
Swedish glass artist Elin Isaksson produces hand blown glass sculpture and chandeliers by commission. Her forms are elegant in delicate colours. Elin has been blowing glass for 18 years and she teaches glass blowing at her studio in a rural farm setting. Elin’s studio will be open set days and by appointment.
For easier access, Elin will also show her glass at Falleninch Farm with Douglas Muir and Paul Howarth.
Elin mainly produces production pieces for galleries all over UK and bespoke hand blown glass for lighting and sculpture by commission.
Previous corporate clients are amongst: National Museum of Scotland, Glenfiddich Oil & Gas UK & the Scotch Malt Society. You can find one of Elin’s chandelier’s (made with Contagious Ltd) hanging at Dewar’s Whisky Centre, Aberfeldy.
Elin is a previous winner of the Shell Livewire Entrepreneur of the year, regional award and she was recently shortlisted for the Homes & Gardens Designer Awards in 2016.
Elin Isaksson graduated from Edinburgh College of Art in 2006 with an MA in Design & Applied Arts.
Elin’s inspiration comes from the play of light, texture and movement in nature and aim to capture a sense of place, a small detail or an atmosphere rather than reproduce a direct likeness of an object or form. She mainly uses the glassblowing technique to achieve her elegant and tactile simple forms in subtle colour blends.
Her studio will also be open by appointment during Open studios 10-18th of June. Call Elin on 07968871439
