About the Artist
I'm a painter, working in oils, acrylics and occasionally watercolour. My work is often inspired by the stunning landscapes that surround me here in Dunblane, and sometimes abroad. I love to try to capture the subtleties of differing light quality and rapidly changing weather. This year, I've completed many commissions, mainly favourite views, or special places.
I usually work from my studio at home, where guests are always welcome. This year, I've completed many commissions, mainly landscapes of loved places, but a few portraits too! I'm self taught, but don't remember ever being without a pencil or paintbrush in my hand. I hope you can pop in to the exhibition and enjoy looking at my work. I'm not trying to make statements, change the world, or shock....i just paint pictures of my interpretation of the views I love, the weather that thrills or beautiful things and I hope I do them justice. (Although perhaps, my "dark skies and bursts of light" paintings are subconsciously a reminder that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel?)
I shall be working every day at the venue during opening hours and visitors are most welcome to watch, ask questions and discuss mediums and techniques.
